Hi everyone,
So do people know of a relatively famous book (academic, fiction, non-fiction trade) published by a female author and under a Creative Commons license?

Well, SICP does list Julie Sussman as the third author…

But I don’t think this really meets your criteria.

Relatively famous…hmm thats all a bit relative, innit. Kelly’s not a household name but her stuff at least meets Wikipedia’s notability standard, having won awards that people may have heard of (Hugo, Nebula). Two of her collections of short stories are under CC licenses.
Another co-authored work that might qualify is Bound By Law. (Jennifer Jenkins, Director of Duke University Center for the Study of the Public Domain)
Generally there don’t seem to be a lot of single-author CC books out there. My first thought was Naomi Klein, but her stuff is under a more restrictive license (though still free to copy in some circumstances)
