Zyprexa Kills Campaign

Category: Academic,Pharma,Politics,Psychiatry — Biella @ 5:30 pm

So this is a little old news but it is still interesting news about freeing the suppressed zyprexa documents. Here is some additional background information .

  1. Also, don’t downplay the freeculture angle around this scandal – FreeCulture & The ZyprexaKills Campaign.

Now would also be a great time to have a national conversation about the relationship between anonymity and freedom of speech, and the effects of omniscient surveillance on that equation.

  2. As someone who would surely have killed myself many times over were it not for psychiatric medications I find a lot of the FUD from the anti-psychiatry community offensive. As a Marxist I find the existence of for-profit pharmaceutical science offensive. The conflict has not made me less parinoid.

I’m sympathectic to your concerns. Please believe that nobody outside the fringe takes mindfreedom seriously and linking to them hurts your credibility.

  3. Velvet Elvis,

The anti-psychiatry movement doesn’t prohibbit people from seeking medication. It simply tries to counterbalance the medical establishments that promote forced hospitalization. Their guiding principle is patient choice. Even though you preffer to take drugs, others shouldn’t be forced to do the same.
