What a Hackable World?

Category: Academic,Advice,Anonymous — Biella @ 3:46 pm

I really don’t know what to make of this Cisco-made video “What a Hackable World.” It is sort of interesting that Anonymous and Lulzsec made it in but the video is not all that clever. And what up with the nerd-o-matic sys admin (most sys admin I know are more hoodie, less nerdie). But can anyone explain what/who the main featured dude is supposed to be? Hacker detective/destroyer? Cisco customer?

  1. I thought the main dude was supposed to be the hacker or the guy singing the song. Though that seems a bit weird because he didn’t look too scary and they usually make the bad guys more scary.

Cisco have been doing a lot of strange or different advertising recently. I’m not sure what the big idea behind it is.

  2. He’s a “black hat” “hacker” — the kind of people who will destroy your network for the fun of it. To those who identify themselves as “hackers”, these people are known as “crackers”, instead.

(yes, sometimes all this terminology gets very complicated)
