Category: Academic,Travel — Biella @ 6:38 am

I am going to Berlin to give a talk at Re:Publica and will be there from Monday through Thursday (11th-14th of April). I am interested in getting together with Debian developers so please contact me if interested. Feel free to leave a comment about your favorite things to do in Berlin as well as I might have a day or two to check out the sites.

  1. while staying in berlin, if you havent been there before: hackerspace cbase http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-base (some days are more quiet than others, check their schedule on http://c-base.org)

another (huge – you can spend a whole day there and still missing half of it) place to explore and have fun:
    http://www.sdtb.de/Englisch.55.0.html
covering lots of topics, including an very interesting bit about berlins history from the time before when the wall was build and west-berlin had been isolated (“airlift”)

in case you are interessted in the division of berlin, and how people tried to leave (flee/escape) the former eastern part of germay: there is another (small one) museum called “haus am checkpoint charlie”, located at friedrichstr./kochstraße – togheter with the remains of the berlin wall one of the most “touristy”-spots here.

  2. It is so much to see in Berlin, from monuments, museums, shops, clubs and parks spread all over the town.My favourite things would be spend time with my friends eating ice cream and sit on the park near Berliner Dom.
