Comics: some help
So, the last day of my class on hacking, we are going to spend some time on geeky comics and talking about this pictorial genre. I have started collecting a set of examples that I think are particularly strong and funny reflections of geek/hacker life but I am looking for more.
So what are some of your all-time favorite episodes/examples from a comic strip? I am looking for stuff that someone who is not necessarily technically oriented will understand but who will be armed with a fairly broad sense of this world too. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Passive Aggressive Notes
I recently found out about a pretty funny site, passive aggressive notes and submitted one of my photos from japan. I loved the note because there was very little English signage in Japan but anything having to do with slackers, well, that must be in English, no?

Reviewing code
The politics and language of judging code.
And speaking of peer review, Scott and Samir of Decoding Liberation have posted a blog post about the problems of peer review in the sciences, making some good points and opening what I hope will be an on-going discussion. I have a lot to add from the perspective of the social sciences and humanities, but that will have to wait for another day.
Pugarrific screen saver
There are a lot of Pugs in NYC. Really, a lot. They are the right size and since they have tubing issues and thus breathing issues, NYers don’t feel bad that they have subject their dogs to a more or less sedentary life minus small jaunts in the park, unless of course, you send you dog to doggie day camp. Whatever the case, there are many. SO New Yorkers with pugs, a present . Use it at work and then it is just like having your pug with you.
When you are holding the moon for ransom
Since I am now running Freedom on a MacBook, it reminded me of one of my favorite Internet videos of all time. It is nice to re-visit the classics from time to time.
FUD
This FUD is not spreadable, but it does make… , and was previously noted in Mexico last year.
Technolgy Quarterly
Here is an odd technological image (to make you smile I hope) and here is the not-so-odd Technolgy Quarterly published by the Economist.
