What for?
You’re a revolutionary and you already know your shit. You never
send inappropriate text messages. You always encrypt your
e-mails. You triple vouch everyone you work with. You are known to
shout in open and public meetings `WHAT ABOUT SECURITY CULTURE?` or
you ignore it because security culture is `alienating` and was the
downfall of some action you were part of 5 years ago. And of course,
you NEVER use social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter.

Security culture is extremely important, yet is quite possibly one of
the most misunderstood, maligned, and oft-ignored components to
anarchist practice. While most people involved in anarchist groups
or actions are aware of a need for `security culture,` the concept
often manifests itself as a hodgepodge of ideas that are applied
haphazardly or as arguments about whether or not to take the battery
out of one’s cell phone.

This skillshare aims to debunk the rumors and the hearsay, to use
recent indictments and other court documents to gain insight on new
maneuvers by the State to watch out for, and most importantly, to
give practical information on safer anarchist practices that will
keep us all fighting in the streets for as long as possible.

All experience levels are welcome.

  1. Anarchists fall into that category of people who I’m glad are part of the discussion, but I’m *really* glad they’re not in charge. Someday I’ll tell you about the time one of my parties was taken over by anarchists.

That aside, security culture is worth promoting, so good on anarchists for organizing and educating on the subject.
